History

“Renick Reptiles stock came from a captive hatched female and he introduced it into many combinations. Hydra at its core is a pattern manipulator. Single gene hydra animals have a distinct banding/distortion of their alien heads and have a jagged neck stripe. When combined with other traits hydra does also display some color modifications as well as pattern modifications.”

Appearance

Head

The head of the Hydra Ball Python is slightly lighter than a Normal Ball Python.

Body

Hydra is a pattern mutation, so visually they look different from normals, I have hatched out a couple that were lighter than normals, but for the most part it’s all in the pattern, starting at the neck . The shaken-up and splattered alien head patterning usually starts out with bright yellow colouration that fades with age. Blushing can be seen along the jet black “puzzle” pattern between

Tail

The tail of the Hydra Ball Python follows the same patterning as the rest of the body.
