Drippy is not a trait. If we are going to use the word trait we should refer to the genetic description of a trait just like in other reptile communities. Drippy is tied to the snowflake gene, the 2 colors we see from it Orange and cream are a result of the Harlequin and or Tangerine gene influencing that part of those traits. Drippy is a description of how the traits developed. [1]
A lighter dorsal is a key component to Drippys as the dorsal drips down onto the upper laterals, creating a ‘Drippy’ effect. Drippy is most commonly seen in Harlequins, Extreme Harlequins, Tricolours, Extreme Tricolours, Pinstripe morphs & Lilly Whites. [2]
Nothing will be only Drippy, there will always be something with the Drippy.
