About
The Spotted Gecko is a small hobby reptile breeder in Georgia. We currently focus on crested geckos, putting emphasis on breeding dalmatian, drippy, and high pattern crested geckos. We focus on quality over quantity and have a small selection of breeders that reside in permeant enclosures much like any pet reptile would. Our breeders are treated as pets before breeders and their care requirements are priority. We strive to breed healthy geckos with high pattern and color goals in mind.
Store Policy
Terms of sale-
It is assumed if you have placed an order that you have read and understood the term of service. The terms of service encompass any reptile sold by The Spotted Gecko. By agreeing to purchase a reptile from The Spotted Gecko the customer agrees to the following terms:
All customers must be 18 years or older to order, no exceptions. If you order a reptile from The Spotted Gecko it is assumed you meet this requirement. The Spotted Gecko has the right to refuse sale of any reptile at our discretion.
Payment- Current payment options for transactions will be through Zelle. The buyer is responsible for inputting the correct information for payment to be sent appropriately. The Spotted Gecko cannot assist in transactions sent to other recipients incorrectly.
Payment Plans- Payment plans are permitted with options of a 14 day hold and a 30 day plan. In order to do a 14 day hold the amount of the animal must be less than $500.00 USD and a 25% non-refundable deposit must be placed to hold the animal for the 14 day period. The total price of the gecko (not including shipping) must be paid in full by the end of the 14th day. For 30 day plans, the price of the animal must exceed $500.00 USD and a non-refundable 25% deposit will be required to place a hold on the animal. The total price of the animal must be paid in full by 30 days. If the buyer chooses to discontinue with their hold or plan, the current paid amount will be refunded except for the 25% non-refundable deposit. Those who fail to pay the hold or plan in the described time without contacting The Spotted Gecko will not be eligible for future plans or holds. If there needs to be an exception made to the chosen hold/plan The Spotted Gecko will need to be contacted at least 1 day prior to missing the deadline. Exceptions will be to the discretion of The Spotted Gecko from this point; holds/plans going past their deadline can be ended at anytime The Spotted Gecko sees fit.
Geckos that are listed on sale or for a reduced sale price are not eligible for plans/holds.
Shipping-
Reptiles purchased from The Spotted Gecko will ship via FedEx priority overnight through Reptiles2You. Shipping will only be permitted in the continental United States of America. The customer is responsible for knowing their state's legal regulations on receiving reptiles outside of their state before placing an order. Once an order is placed it is assumed the customer is knowledgeable of their state's regulations. The buyer is to pay all required shipping and service costs for their order, failure to do so will result in the appropriate refund and termination of the order. Reptiles shipped by The Spotted Gecko will ship either Tuesday or Wednesday; confirmation of shipping dates to insure the animal(s)' safety will be discussed with the customer. The Spotted Gecko has the right to delay or hold animals for shipping if weather or other shipping parameters deem shipping to be unsafe for the animal; shipment will resume as The Spotted Gecko sees fit and the customer will remain updated on order status should a hold occur. The Spotted Gecko recommends shipping to hold at the customer's nearest FedEx Shipping Center where live arrival of the animal will be guaranteed if the customer obtains and opens the package no later than 3 hours after delivery. A refund for the price of the gecko (not including shipping) will be given to the customer if the animal is dead on arrival only if:
1.The customer obtains and opens the package within 3 hours of delivery to the FedEx Shipping Center.
2. The customer notifies The Spotted Gecko within 1 hour after receiving and opening the package.
3. The customer provides photos of the deceased animal still within its original shipping container.
If the customer chooses "to-your-door" shipment live arrival cannot be guaranteed due to fluctuation of outdoor temperatures. The Spotted Gecko is not responsible for carrier delays. However, if a delay should result in a reptile dead on arrival, the buyer will receive the same refund as stated above. The buyer is responsible for sending their correct shipping address; The Spotted Gecko will not issue any refunds for an incorrect address that results in DOA.
Health-
Reptiles shipped by The Spotted Gecko are assumed healthy and have no known history of parasitic infections, kinks, or other medical problems. Any medical issues or imperfections noted by The Spotted Gecko will be disclosed to the buyer prior to order. The customer is responsible for quarantining any new animal they receive from The Spotted Gecko and/or vet checks prior to introducing them to other animals. The Spotted Gecko will not be responsible for any alleged or actual deaths of the customer's current animal stock. The customer acknowledges the ability to care for each animal purchased from The Spotted Gecko and are knowledgeable on the animal's medical care upon each order. Once the animal is in the customer's possession and removed from the shipping container, The Spotted Gecko will not be responsible for the health/death of the received animal(s) due to variance in husbandry. The Spotted Gecko will not be responsible should a reptile drop its tail during shipment and no refund will be issued to the customer for any tail drops.
Sexing-
The Spotted Gecko does not guarantee the sex of any reptile unless specified in the given ad. Terms such as “no pores visible” (NPV), “possible pores visible” (PPV), “pores visible” (PV), or “possible pseudo pores” are an observation seen on each gecko during louping but do not guarantee the final sex of the animal. If an animal's sex is specified (male or female) in the given ad and is sexed incorrectly, the customer has 2 days to notify and provide photo proof of the misrepresentation of sex. Should The Spotted Gecko find that an ordered animal was improperly sexed the customer may receive a partial refund for the animal (25% of the animal's original list price, not including shipping). Partial refunds will be given due to The Spotted Gecko not accepting physical returns of any given animal for the animal's safety; the buyer will keep the ordered animal received in the case of a mis-sex. Any unsexed animal ad with the acronyms "NPV" , "PPV" , “PV” or wording of “no pores visible”, “pores visible”, “possible pseudo-pores”, or “possible pores” are animals that will not fall under a mis-sex refund policy.
Color- The Spotted Gecko tries to capture the true color of each animal on sale photos. However, some colors may vary from photo to real life on some animals. If there are any questions about an animal’s color please reach out. The Spotted Gecko will be happy to provide you clarification, videos, or other photos. The Spotted Gecko will not issue refunds for the cost of any color variations.
Refunds- If an order is discontinued on paid in full animal (one payment made), a 15% charge will be taken out of the buyer’s refunded money from the price of the animal. Animals that have went through a hold or plan payment before being paid in full will be subject to the 25% forfeited deposit (see Payment Plans). This only applies to animals that have not been shipped to the buyer. Other refunds are not offered unless outlined elsewhere in these terms.
