I am a small volume Canadian breeder and hobbyist producing snakes that I find beautiful and unique. My focus is on clowns, enhancers, genetic stripes, and pieds, as well as champagne and BEL complex combos.
It is important to me that I provide a positive pre- and post-sale experience for those who reach out to me. When I am not in my ball room, I am a college biology instructor. Answering questions and sharing my enthusiasm with others is what I enjoy doing. I have been extremely fortunate to be able to combine my "day job" knowledge and skills with my interest in reptiles.
In 2017, in collaboration with researchers at McGill University (Montreal, Canada), I began investigating the genetic basis of color and pattern in ball pythons. In 2020, we discovered the causal mutation for piebald, the first morph to be identified and sequenced. https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.10.30.362970v2. In the years following this first morph mutation identification, the discovery of new mutations has exploded, and the hobby is experiencing these results through genotyping of their animals.
My work on morph mutations continues today with collaborations in the US and Europe. I also offer genotyping to breeders and hobbyists in Canada. https://www.facebook.com/ballpythongeneticscanada
So I could devote more attention to this passion project, I stopped producing clutches in 2023. I now offer the majority of my collection for sale to others to enjoy. Please reach out to me with questions about my animals or genetic testing.
Thank you.
