Store Policy
1. **Scope of Agreement**:These terms and conditions govern the sale and purchase of reptiles from Katamaran Reptile Ranch, hereinafter referred to as "Seller."
2. **Species Availability**: The availability of reptiles for sale is subject to change based on breeding success, health assessments, and other factors. As of right now we only consistently offer crested geckos but we are planning to add Chahoua, Leachianus, Eurydactylodes viellardi, and Gargoyles in the future!
3. **Health Guarantee**: All reptiles sold by the Seller are guaranteed to be healthy at the time of sale to the best of the Seller's knowledge. The Buyer is encouraged to inspect the reptile upon delivery and should notify the Seller immediately if any health concerns arise within 24 hours of pickup. We guarantee that any birth defects will be noted on the sale page and any gecko advertised as breeding quality will be free of defects such as polydactyly, scoliosis, kinked tails, etc.
4. **Sales Transactions**:
- All sales are final once payment is received, except in cases where the reptile is found to be unhealthy as per the health guarantee.
- The Seller reserves the right to refuse a sale if there are concerns about the suitability of the reptile's environment or the Buyer's ability to care for it.
-All buyers must be over the age of 18 or have a parent's consent to purchase any reptile from Katamaran Reptile Ranch. Buyers are responsible for picking up the reptile from the shipment center in a timely fashion. Picking up the reptile 8 or more hours beyond the delivery timestamp voids DOA. Opting for front door shipment instead of "hold at facility" voids DOA.
5. **Payment**:
- Payment must be made in full before the reptile is shipped or picked up.
- We offer payment plans! A 25% down payment is required with the other 75% paid within 1 month from the initial payment. These percentages are for the price of the gecko plus any shipping costs. Geckos must be shipped within 2 weeks of final payment.
-Payment due within 24 hrs of auction ending! PIF only for auctions :)
- Accepted forms of payment include Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and cash. Buyer is responsible for all fees associated with their method of payment (Ex: 3% fee for PayPal Goods & Services) as well as all shipping fees.
- We always charge exactly what we pay for shipping, the seller will contact the buyer through the email stated on the gecko inquiry form to quote the shipping cost. Generally, this ranges from $50-$85 depending on the distance. Local pickup is free and we offer 5% off the price of the gecko for local pickup!
6. **Shipping and Delivery**:
- Reptiles will be shipped via FedEx overnight at the Buyer's expense. The Buyer will be contacted through the email left on the gecko inquiry form to perform payment and get a shipping quote.
- The Seller will package reptiles appropriately to ensure their safety during transit. This includes an insulated live reptile box, cool or hot pack, and a secured deli cup with the animal's details written on it. We are unable to use discreet packaging; due to the Federal Lacey Act, all live reptiles being shipped must be marked plainly on the outside of the box.
- The Buyer must provide accurate shipping information. The Seller is not responsible for delays or issues caused by incorrect shipping details provided by the Buyer.
- If the Buyer wishes to opt for front-door delivery as opposed to holding at the FedEx facility, the shipment will not be eligible for coverage under our DOA policy. We do not offer front-door shipping if the forecast shows that the destination temperatures are below 50F or above 85F.
- At this time, we are currently only shipping to the lower 48 states.
7. **Legal Compliance**:
- The Buyer is responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding the ownership and care of reptiles.
- The Seller will not sell or ship reptiles to areas where their ownership is prohibited.
8. **Liability**:
- The Seller is not liable for any injury, illness, or death of the reptile after it has been received by the Buyer, except in cases where it can be demonstrated that such issues were present at the time of sale and covered under the health guarantee.
9. **Cancellation**:
- Orders may be canceled by the Buyer up until payment is made. Once payment is received, the sale is considered final.
- We understand that things happen and shipping dates may need to be adjusted. All geckos must be shipped within 14 days of the final payment unless extenuating circumstances are met. This mostly applies to foul weather events such as hurricanes, flooding, or extreme heat/cold. If a shipping date needs to be adjusted please contact us immediately!
-Shipments may not be canceled or adjusted after the animal(s) is handed over to FedEx.
10. **Death On Arrival (DOA) Policy**:
- In the improbable scenario where an animal arrives dead, in poor condition, or otherwise injured as a result of the shipping process the buyer is encouraged to do everything possible to save the gecko. Please reach out to us immediately so we may discuss a solution. We will require photos and/or videos so we may also assess the condition of the gecko so please be ready to provide these. Refusing to provide evidence of injury/illness/death will void the DOA policy.
- The DOA policy only applies to animals that were shipped through FedEx overnight and held for pickup at the FedEx facility. Any modification to that process will void the DOA policy.
- All DOA claims must be made within 24 hours from the time the gecko arrived at the FedEx facility, not from the time of buyer pickup. This will be determined via the tracking number associated with the shipment, which is officially timestamped by FedEx.
- Local pickups are not applicable for claims under the DOA policy as we cannot determine how the animal was handled after it leaves our care. We strongly recommend local pickup customers thoroughly examine the gecko before leaving the meetup location to ensure health, correctness, and color.
- Please note: Geckos can "fire up" and "fire down", this may change their colors drastically. We try to have all of our geckos "fired up" when we do our sale photography, but they may be fired down when they arrive to you. We strive to take extremely accurate photos for our website to ensure all parties are satisfied with their purchase. Please reach out if you would like further photos (fired up or down) before purchasing the gecko, we especially recommend this with any of our lavender animals.
11. **Dispute Resolution**:
- Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions will be resolved through negotiation and mediation, with litigation as a last resort.
12. **Modification of Terms**:
- These terms and conditions may be modified or updated by the Seller at any time. The Buyer will be notified of any changes.
By purchasing a reptile from Katamaran Reptile Ranch, the Buyer agrees to abide by these terms and conditions. These terms constitute the entire agreement between the Buyer and the Seller regarding the sale and purchase of reptiles.
MorphMarket's Default Store Policy
